The mom bod...

The time has come... I've found my "mom bod." I can't say I really like it. In fact, I hate it. Don't get me wrong. This body made a freakin awesome human. So this body should be considered awesome. I just don't think I can call it that.

I know that some of you are going to say, "You don't have a mom bod!" Or "you can't even tell you had a baby!" I know. I was very fortunate to not gain a ton of weight. Actually, because I was so sick for a while, I technically only gained 4 pounds the whole 9 (10) months. Go ahead. Throw something at me. That's fine. As long as it's food. :)

Anywho... What I am mostly confused about is the fact that one month after giving birth to my awesome daughter, I weighed 15 pounds lighter than I did pre-pregnancy. FIFTEEN! How does that even happen?

Fast forward to today. I am (only) 5 pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy, 4 pounds (that won't budge) away from my goal, and 10 pounds away from my one month (stupid) postpartum body. Even if it wasn't the weight, things are just different. I see my belly and only see where a baby once was. And I see the two girls and need to give them a little hoist. Which is totally ridiculous because about 6 months ago, people would have paid good money for those things. :)

My point? I don't even remember. Except that I'm working my ass off, I'm eating better, and well, I still love wine...

I don't even know why I wrote this post, except that maybe someone will read it and know that they aren't alone.

Hey mama, you want more ice cream? Might as well go for the second scoop because the only person judging you right now is that baby... And if yours is like mine, she gets no say so in the chunky department. :) Our bodies (with some help from the big Guy upstairs) created, formed, and grew a stinkin' person. We should get a medal for that.. And a fun summer beverage just because we can! Cheers! Bring on the "momkini!"

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

—Genesis 3:8

My fancy mom who has a killer mom bod.
I can't imagine why things seem a little off kilter...😁
